ಸಸ್ಯ ಸಂವರ್ಧನೆ

  • ನೈಟ್ರೇಟ್ಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಫಾಸ್ಫೇಟ್ಸ್ ಪೋಷಕಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಸಸ್ಯ (ಫೈಟೋಪ್ಲಾಂಕ್ಟನ್ಸ್) ಸಂವರ್ಧನೆ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು ‘ಪಾಚಿ ಸಸ್ಯಾಭಿವರ್ಧನೆ‘ಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಪಾಚಿ ಸಸ್ಯಾಭಿವರ್ಧನೆಯು ಸಹಜ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರುಪೇರನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನೇಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ.
  • ಪಾಚಿ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕವನ್ನು ಹೀರಿಕೊಂಡು ಜಲಚರಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕವಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಮೀನು ಮುಂತಾದ ಜಲಚರಗಳು ಸಾಯಬಹುದು.
  • ನೀರಿನ ಮೇಲ್ಮೈ ಪಾಚಿಗಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಬೆಳಕು ನೀರಿನ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯರಶ್ಮಿ ದೊರೆಯದೆ, ಅವುಗಳ ಆಹಾರ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಕುಗ್ಗಬಹುದು.
  • ಕೆಲವು ಪಾಚಿಗಿಡಗಳು ಉನ್ನತ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಷಪ್ರಭಾವವನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಷವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸಬಹುದು.
  • ಈ ವಿಷವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಆಹಾರ ಸರಪಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಕವಾಗಬಹುದು.

ಬಿಓಡಿ, ಸಿಓಡಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು…

  • ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿರುವ ನೀರಿನ ತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕವನ್ನು ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೈವರಾಸಾಯನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೈವರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯು ಈ ಕೆಳಕಂಡಹಾಗೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
    ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಬಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು + ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ಟೀರಿಯ + ಪೋಷಕಾಂಶಗಳು + O2 –> CO2+ H2O+ ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೀಕರಣಗೊಂಡ ನಿರವಯ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕಗಳು ಉದಾ: NO3, SO4
  • ಸಲ್ಫೈಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಟ್ರೈಟ್ ಮುಂತಾದವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

NO2 + 0.5O2 –>NO3 -

  • ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ನೀರಿನ ತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ಟೀರಿಯಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೋಷಕಾಂಶಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದಂತಹ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆದು ಆ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ಜಲಚರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳೆಯಬಹುದು. ಇದುವೇ ಜೈವಿಕ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ (ಬಿಡಿಓ=ಬಯಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಆಕ್ಸಿಜನ್ ಡಿಮಾಂಡ್)
  • ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಸಹಜ ನೀರಿನ ತಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೀಕರಣವಾಗಬಲ್ಲ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕಗಳನ್ನು (ರೆಡ್ಯೂಸಿಂಗ್ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕಗಳು) ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗಲೂ ಇಂತಹುದೇ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯಬಹುದು. ಇದನ್ನು ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ (ಸಿಓಡಿ=ಕೆಮಿಕಲ ಆಕ್ಸಿಜನ್ ಡಿಮಾಂಡ್) ಎಮ್ದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ.
  • ಒಂದು ಜಲತಾಣದ ಬಿಓಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಓಡಿ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ, ಆ ಜಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಅಂದರೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿರುವ ಜಲ ಮಾಲೀನ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಬಹುದು.
