Make your own Ganesha idol using natural clay. You will make the basic form using mold and later add your touch to the idol using simple modeling tools.

Program dates / Time : Saturday 20th August to Tuesday 30th Aug.
Between 11:00 AM & 1:30 PM or 3:00 PM & 7:00 PM

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board workshop on eco-friendly Ganapati – Aug 10

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board conducted a workshop on promoting eco-friendly Ganapati celebrations at its Church Street, Bangalore Office.
Environmentalists, NGOs were well represented. Media was also present in good numbers. The event was covered in many newspapers.

YFS volunteers were present and spoke on the occasion to impress upon the need to take the message across to more people through mass media.

The videos of ParisaraGanapati messages was screened during the initial part of the program.

In Hyderabad,Society for Awareness and Vision on Environment (SAVE) a NGO is working to make unpainted clay idols available at different parts of Hyderabad. Youth For Seva Volunteers will be helping out on this. Refer to the link for more details on the work done Mr. Vijay Ram of SAVE and involvement of HMDA.

Youth For Seva in association with MES College and Malleswaram Residents Association have organized a Jatha to promote the use of unpainted clay idols for Ganapati pooja.

The Jatha starts at 10 am from M E S COLLEGE,15th cross Malleswaram. The Jatha will be flagged off by Sri.A.S.Sadashivaiah,IFS (retd), Chairman, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KPSCB). Dr.C.N.Ashwathanarayana, MLA Malleswaram and local corporators have been invited.

A stall displaying / selling unpainted clay idols will be setup from 10 AM on Sunday inside the college premises.

Route : MES College – 9th main Malleswaram-18th cross-Sampige road-8th cross-8th main Malleshwaram-M E S college (3 Kms)

Students of various colleges and schools will also participate. All are welcome. Please participate in large numbers to support this campaign.
